SJM Photographic was established in 1981. The company is owned & operated by John Matchett BSc(hons). John studied commercial photography as a post-graduate, with Californian photographer Scott Morrison.
Due to a strong scientific background the company undertook a lot of technical projects early on, before developing bespoke special effect systems during the 1990's. This generated a lot of advertising commissions, and gradually the company moved into more design-based concept imaging, as well as general commercial & industrial photography.
25 years on SJM has a wealth of expertise in all areas of technical imaging, and a distinct, clean design style. The company continues to work with emerging digital technologies and now undertakes a lot of 3D, animation and morphing commissions. Working closely with mechanical, electronics and software engineers, SJM has developed a number of novel imaging systems.
SJM endevours to provide both designers and commercial clients with high quality, good value-for-money images.
